1675 Larger bell recast by John Hodson.
1759 Rev'd Bryan Faussett wrote:
This Church consists of the Chancell, Body, and 2 Side Isles; at ye West End, is a low Sspire, in wch. hang 2 Bells, thus Inscribed. 1. Sancta Maria, ora pro Nobis. 2. Tho. Hodson made Me. 1675. R. Philpot, Ch.Warden.
1760 Smaller bell recast by Lester & Pack. The former bell was a blackletter bell.
1795 Zachariah Cozens wrote:
In the Steeple are two Bells inscribed: 1. John Hodson Made Mee 1675. Ralph Phillpoot Church Warden, C.H. 2. Lester & Pack, London fecit. 1760. [I think he has got these two the wrong way round.]
1800 Edward Hasted wrote:
The church, which is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, is a small mean building, having a low pointed wooden turret at the west end, in which are two bells.
1881 Both bells recast and rehung for ringing by John Warner & Sons.
1887 Stahlschmidt notes 2 bells in the tower.
1888 Clock and clock bell added by Gillett & Co.
