HISTORY

c.1120 Church in existence.
1401 A bell was supposedly cast and installed inscribed "Guillelmus Prene me fecit in honorem sanctae trinitas"
1552 Record of 3 bells.
1726-32 Church rebuilt by Matthew Spray (builder).
1738-9 Bells transferred to the new tower.
1821 Ring of 8 cast by Thomas Mears.
1892 Bells retuned and rehung by Warners for £204.16.10.
1893 Bells rehung in a new frame by T. Blackbourn of Salisbury. ?? Check.
1894 Chancel built.
1929 The tenor was reported to be cracked.
1932 Tenor recast by John Taylor who rehung the remainder with new fittings in the old frame.
