History

1675 Ring of 5 cast by John Hodson.
1889 The tower was drastically restored.
1891 The tenor was recast by Mears & Stainbank.
1919 Bells recast into a ring of 6 by Alfred Bowell and hung in a steel frame for 8 bells. [1]
1932 The bells are recorded as being largely silent pending restoration.
1960 Bells restored by the Kent C.A.
1984 Work on the tower was completed.
[1] To recasting & rehanging the five old bells and adding a sixth £260. Extras. Inscription on the tenor 42 letters @ 4d eacg 14/-. Altering & refixing clock hammer and spindle £3. Total £263-14-0. Paid cq. 3 May 1920 £200. Cq. £63-14-0 27 Oct 1920. (Bowell records, 3 May, 1920)
