History

1713 4 bells cast by Richard Phelps.
1824 Front 3 (of 4) bells recorded as cracked and that metal had started to "disappear".
1851 Front 3 (of 4) recorded as gone, with the tenor being cracked.
1853 Tenor recast by Charles & George Mears.
1868 4 new bells added by Robert Stainbank to form Nos 1,2,3 and 5 of 5 around the existing bell. Some time later the 2nd was replaced with a (probable) stock bell by Mears & Stainbank. The date of this substitution is not known.
1959 Bells rung again after a silence of many years following the arrival of the Rev'd C.A.R. Walter, a ringer formerly at Hollingbourne.
1995 Treble headstock fell apart - all ringing in the tower stopped.
1997 Bells rehung in a new frame with a new treble added by Whitechapel to make 6.
