History

1863 Church built by Newton.
1864 John Warner cast a bell for the new church.
1866 Parish created from that of Ss Peter & Paul, Bromley.
1900 1st June 5 bells were installed as a chime in the tower by Gillett & Johnston. The Gillett order book records the order for a clock and bells, costing £570, together with the inscriptions. [1]
1989 6th April The church was gutted by fire which started in the organ in the tower. The bells were not destroyed, but were considered unworthy of preservation. One of the bells was broken up by the KCACR gang, although the others were removed intact.
1991 New ring of six installed in the tower in an 8-bell frame. The Church was rededicated by the Bishop of Rochester on 21st Dec.
1993 2 trebles added by Whitechapel.
