History

1552 Record of 5 bells. [1]
1612 All 5 bells recast by Joseph Hatch.
1847 Treble added to make 6 in an adapted frame by Charles & George Mears.
1880 2 trebles added to make 8 by Mears & Stainbank in a further adapted frame.
1953 All ringing ceased after the tower was found to be cracked.
1967 Bells retuned and rehung in a new frame (made of imported hardwood, possibly Jarrah) by Whitechapel. The old 2nd was stolen necessitating a new bell to be cast by Whitechapel.
