History |
1595 | This ‘Hospital’, or almshouses, was founded in 1595 by Sir John Boys for 8 poor men and 4 poor women, known as ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters‘. The history of the clock and bell is not well known, but the bell hangs within the clock case for swing chiming. It is a very small bell, which is inaccessible. |
