History |
1871 | Lifeboat House was built opposite St Saviour's church and in a similar gothic style. A bell, cast by John Warner & Sons, was hung in an open gable for swing chiming with a lever on a timber headstock. | ||
2013 | The bell was rehung on a new metal deadstock for chiming with an internal hammer. Prior to that it is said not to have been rung since the 1970s when one of the lifeboat volunteers was married. |
