HISTORY

1552

Record of 3 bells in the tower.

1696

Bells recast by John Wood of Bishopsgate. This may have been his only known complete ring?

1758 Rev'd Bryan Faussett wrote:
This Church is but Small, and consists only of The Chancell and the Body. At The West End is a pretty handsome Tower in which hang 3 Bells, thus inscribed.
1. I.W. – I.R. 1696.
2. I.W. – I.R. 1696.
3 John Richards W. 1696

c.1796

The 2 trebles were sold.

1799 Edward Hasted wrote:
The church, which is dedicated to St. Peter, consists of one isle and one chancel, having a square tower, with a beacon turret at the west end, in which is one bell.

1896

Remaining bell was rehung in old fittings in a new frame, locally made.

1971

Bell rehung on new fittings (for ringing, but with no stay or slider) in the old frame by Whitechapel.

2000

Church made redundant.
