HISTORY

1371-92

Bell cast by William Burford, destined to become the 4th (of 5).

1520-9

Tower built.

1609

Bell cast by Stephen Swan, destined to become the tenor.

1660

Treble and 2nd (of 5) cast by John Hodson.

1758

3rd (of 5) recast by Lester & Pack.

1848

29th Feb Whitechapel Day Book shows that Mears provided a new oak frame and repaired the fittings for £70 12s. 6d. and provided 5 new wheels for an extra £10.

1886

Tenor recast and treble added to make 6 by John Warner.

1957

5th recast.  The crown and inscription band of the old 5th was turned off and preserved in the church.

2006

Whitechapel replaced most of the fittings, assisted by the KCACR.
