HISTORY

1572 Church records suggest that the church was very ruinous.
1671 A bell was cast (as one of two) for St Michael, Crooked Lane, London, by Anthony Bartlett.
1688 The repair of the church was completed.
1831 St Michael's Crooked Lane was destroyed during the alterations made for the new approach to London Bridge. One of its bells was transferred to River.
1831 Sept The new church was consecrated. The old church had been pulled down.
1876 The Bartlet bell was recast by John Warner as part of a general restoration of the church (including the construction of an apse and porch).
