A bell was cast at about this time by Samuel Knight and hung in a wooden turret of the church. |
1897 |
The Knight bell was replaced in the turret with a new bell by Mears & Stainbank to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The old bell was moved to the church. |
1902 |
Tower built at a cost to King Edward VII & other royalties and an 18th century bell was hung in it. |
1904 |
A diatonic ring of 4 was cast and hung by Mears & Stainbank at a cost of £216.17s.6. but hung in pits 1-4 of a 6-bell frame. The Knight bell was scrapped, and the 1897 bell was taken back as new by Mears. |
