| The inscription on the treble comes from Faussett and
may be a mistranslation of "Ihc Sancta Maria". In addition, it bore "the
impression of both sides of a Groat of Henry VIII impressed upon it, as also
the Prince's Feathers and Motto ICH DIEN". This bell was probably by William
Oldfield. . |

1758 Rev'd Bryan Faussett wrote:
This Church is very neat, and consists of the Great and North Chancells, The Body, and The North Isle. In an Handsome Tower, at the W.End of The Body, are 4 Bells, thus inscribed.

2nd and 3rd (of 4) recast and treble added to make 5, all the bells were retuned and rehung by Mears & Stainbank in a new metal frame for six.
