1799 Edward Hasted wrote:
The church, which is dedicated to St. Mary, is a large handsome building, consisting of two isles and two chancels, having a square tower steeple at the west end, in which are five bells. 1917

Bells, with new bells, rehung by Mears & Stainbank.

Bells retuned and rehung in a new frame for 8 by Whitechapel. Only the 3rd and tenor (of 6) retained their canons.
